Mr. Ramirez - English As a native Angeleno, Mr. Ramirez can proudly claim to be a product of the LAUSD. He earned a B.A. in British/American Literature from Cal State University East Bay (formerly Hayward), followed by a Single Subject Teaching Credential from National University. Having served the San Fernando community in a substitute teaching capacity consistently since 2007, it only made sense to return to the school that was so integral in his development as an educator. Laboratory tests have revealed that he may well in fact have veins flowing with traces of tiger blood. So it looks like he’s found his way back home. He’s tangible proof of what is possible if one sticks true to their personal aspirations and seeing something through to the end despite how long it may take to get there. Some days (most actually) he feels like the luckiest fella in the world when he remembers that he’s been given an opportunity to come to work and play a part in assisting teenagers to become better writers, refine their critical thinking abilities, explore their imagination/creativity, and most of all, harness their true potential. Mr. Rivera - English Mr. Rivera was born and raised in the beautiful city of San Fernando and is proud to be a San Fernando High School alumnus. Mr. Rivera received his B.A. in Journalism from Ithaca College Roy H. Park School of Communications, in Ithaca NY. While some would say it was the Northern winters that drove Rivera back to sunny California, those closest to him would know that it was the possibility to work with the same Magnet Family that raised him that brought him back home. Whatever the case may be, Mr. Rivera is glad to be back to his roots, and is equally exited for the infinite possibilities and potential that the next generation of Tigers can produce. He is eagerly awaiting to hear of the stories his students will write, both in his class and in their lives, and hopes inspire students to do good work, beyond the confines of the classroom.
